Kingskerswell Parish Council will engage and represent the local community. Managing and developing Kingskerswell's assets and amenities; in order to protect, enhance and build a beautiful safe and welcoming place, for all residents to thrive.

The village of Kingskerswell is situated part way between Torquay and Newton Abbot; the village straddles the main A380 road linking the two towns. There are two very different sections of the village, the old and the new, with a railway line separating them.

After the recent very bad weather KKPC will be conducting work within Kingskerswell Down woodland to ensure as many of the paths remain open.  This work will be signed, however, due to a number of fallen trees and broken branches in and around pathways, the Parish Council would ask that visitors take great care when walking through the wooded areas, and they do so at their own risk.

Planning Applications

KKPC Planning Committee would like to remind residents that they can view and comment on planning applications on the Teignbridge Planning Portal, which is on the Teignbridge District Council website.  An advanced search allows you to view all the applications currently live in Kingskerswell you can click on each application to view and add your comments.

For example

20/00285/MAJ- Land to the Rear Of Mount Pleasant Road. Approval of details for 28 dwellings pursuant to outline planning permission 16/01961/MAJ. Please do take a look and comment on Teignbridge Planning Portal. 

Kingskerswell Parish Council are only consultee's with Teignbridge making the final decision

Notice of Casual Vacancy


For the Parish of Kingskerswell

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972, that a vacancy exist in the office of Councillor for the above Parish. If, within fourteen working days after the date of this notice (i.e. by no later than 18th December 2020) a request to fill the vacancy by election is made in writing to the Proper Officer, Forde House, Brunel Road, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4XX by TEN electors of the Parish then an election will be held to fill the vacancy, otherwise the Parish Council will take steps to fill the vacancy by co-option.

IMPORTANT: Please be advised that in accordance with the Coronavirus Act 2020 and The Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020, if an election is requested to fill this vacancy it will not take place before May 2021.
